The 13th International AMD and Retina Congress to be held in Dublin on 25-26 October will provide specialists of international renown with the opportunity to present their latest findings in research and clinical practice. The event will also include a variety of plenary sessions, round tables and case studies.
Dr. Jordi Monés, the Medical Director of the Barcelona Macula Foundation, will give two lectures on Friday 25th. In “Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Long-Term Management, Safety, and Cost”, the day’s third session which starts at 11.40 a.m., Dr. Monés will present clinical cases to have been successfully treated. He will also offer his view on the long-term management of those Exudative AMD cases which do not respond to conventional treatment with current anti-VEGF agents. Other specialists also taking part in this presentation are Sobha Sivaprasad from England, Jean-Francois Korobelnik from France and Rafael Navarro from España.
In the afternoon, Dr. Monés will give a masterclass entitled “New imaging techniques: Instrumentation for visualizing the instruments of vision” together with Dr. Emin Ozmert from the University of Ankara. Here, he will use clinical cases to give his opinion on two much-debated topics with regard to today’s management of retinal diseases. The first concerns visualisation and the different presentations at the level of evidence of the same retinal lesion (Different visualisation of the same finding). The second subject involves the diagnosis of macular diseases through challenging clinical cases.
