Dr. Jordi Monés presents the FCB Universitas project in New York

The Barcelona Macula Foundation’s Medical Director, Jordi Monés, has presented the FCB Universitas project, Sport Innovation Hub, at FC Barcelona’s recently-opened office in New York. Dr Monés was acting in his capacity as board member of the club and Commissioner of Universitas.

On Wednesday, Dr. Monés, who is also the director of FCB Universitas, presented the project to a select group of guests including representatives from the universities of Georgetown, New York, Fordham, Harvard, Columbia and Cornell as well as from the United Nations, UNICEF and Mount Sinai. Other attendees included executives from sports institutions like Major League Soccer (MLS), the National Basketball Association (NBA), LaLiga and the city’s top football, ice hockey, baseball and basketball teams: the Red Bulls, Rangers, Yankees and Brooklyn Nets, respectively.

FCB Universitas, Sport Innovation Hub is the vehicle through which FC Barcelona aims to project and share internationally the knowledge created by the club. The key areas of application include medical services, performance, technology, team sports and social sciences.
