Dr. Jordi Monés to attend the 11th Angiogenesis Meeting in Miami

Miami plays host to the 11th Angiogenesis Meeting on Saturday, 8 February. The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the event organiser, has chosen the city’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel as the venue.

This year’s Meeting, which carries the title “Angiogenesis, Exudation, and Degeneration 2014”, will provide scientists, researchers, ophthalmologists and eye specialists with the opportunity to discuss the possible treatments for the neovascular and exudative pathologies that affect the eye. During the day, there will also be debate on revolutionary therapies in research and clinical practice on AMD, macular edema and diabetic retinopathy. Special emphasis will be placed on the present and future financial impact of these medicines on clinical practice.

The speakers will include physicians and researchers of international importance such as Robert L. Avery, founder of California Retina Consultants, co-founder of the California Retina Research Foundation and researcher at the Neuroscience Research Institute of the University of California and Jayakrishna Ambati, professor and vice chair in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the University of Kentucky and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Barcelona Macula Foundation.

Dr. Jordi Monés, the Medical Director and Ophthalmologist of the Barcelona Macula Foundation will form part of the audience on this occasion.
