The Barcelona Macula Foundation present at the 8th ONCE Catalonia Solidarity Awards

The Auditorium of the ONCE (National Organisation of Spanish Blind People) building in Barcelona has played host to the presentation of the Eighth ONCE Catalonia Solidarity Awards. The purpose of these prizes is to recognise and reward the individuals, organisations, institutions, media and administration that perform charitable acts in their area of influence and achieve the social inclusion of all citizens, standardisation and personal autonomy and universal accessibility.

All the award winners distinguish themselves through their social awareness, their longstanding careers or their dedication in support of the social rights of the most disadvantaged.

The Medical Director of the Barcelona Macula Foundation, Dr. Jordi Monés, accepted the invitation to attend the event presided by the Most Honourable President of the Government of Catalonia, Artur Mas, together with the President of ONCE and its Foundation, Miguel Carballeda.

The awards for this edition went to the ALBA Association, Mercè Riera, the Cocina Justa social enterprise, the Apropa Cultura (Closer to Culture) programme of the Department of Social Welfare and Family of the Government of Catalonia and the Radio Nikosia station.
