The Chair Bidons Egara organizes the II Conference on Retinitis Pigmentosa

The Barcelona Macula Foundation was very active in the II Scientific Conference "Retinal Degenerative Diseases: Advances and Challenges”, organized by the Research Chair Bidons Egara in Terrassa on 14 and 15 March.

Dr. Jordi Monés, director of the BMF and IMIR, with Marc de Semir, executive deputy director of the BMF, were present during the two days that made an approach to the disease from the standpoint of the sick and gave an update on the latest science on retinitis pigmentosa, a disease priority on research carried out in the BMF, which affects 1 in 4,000 people in Spain.

The research Chair was established in February 2005 thanks to generous sponsorship and collaboration of D. Joaquin Lopez and Company Bidons Egara S.L. (Viladecavalls, Barcelona) in order to provide a legal instrument that contributes to the research, university education and the dissemination of knowledge of visual disorders in general and particularly Retinitis Pigmentosa.
